A new tool has be released by the open source community called GoogleCL. It allows you to run a full range of commands to use Google services from a command line. This opens up many possibilities for scripted use of Google services.
Some examples may be :

Google recently made some layout and design changes to both the homepage buttons, logo and more importantly the search engine results page.
Personally I’m not keen on the SERPs changes, the page now looks incredibly busy.
Having these additional options presented to the user could have some big impacts.

The Google Adwords Professional program has been retired! Boooo, I was one myself, can’t say it was too difficult though so it’s best they stepped it up a notch. You can checkout the new Google Certification program here.

Previously when a user was logged into Google all search results were tailored to the user. When logged out all users from a country were displayed the same results. This is no more. From now on, Google looks at the past 180 days of your search activity a displays search results tailored to that search [...]
Google has just launched their own free public DNS servers, this will help speed up your internet browsing. You can find out how to configure your machine to use them here. I’ve always used OpenDNS servers which are very good, it will be interesting to see how they compare to the new Google DNS Servers.

Google made some changes to it’s homepage today. These were based on user testing and I’m sure will result in increased “conversions” of users into searches.
