Adsense changed today…. Ads are now shown to viewers not only in regard to page content but also in view of what they have seen previously. Some people are nay-saying this improvement and moaning and privacy yada yada.

I say it’s a good thing, unless you’re in a really high CPC niche this change is most probably going to increase your CPC rates as well as your click through. All of this results in more cash in your pocket…. after all that’s why the big G made the change…

iPhone Adsense App

Am earning some decent Adsense revenues these days so am keen to know how much moolah Ive when deciding which bottle of champagne to buy when out on the piss. Have looked at all of them and the iEarn app is by far the best. Can be a tad slow on GPRS but if you 3G of WIFI then it’s happy days. Here’s a screenshot…

Adsense Fonts

Google Adsense now allows you to set your ads up with different fonts. You can choose from Verdana, Times or Arial. This is a great new feature and will allow you to further increase your ad CTR. Now if we could only get them to remove the “Ads by Google” logo…

Recently I’ve been testing different types of ads on my site www.craftytv.com. What I’ve noticed is that the link units on the page make a hell of a lot more than the banner ads. So much so that I’m considering getting rid of those areas from the site and adding more content to those areas.

Banner ads seem to get appox .5% CTR and link units seem to get approx 5% CTV, thats a 10 fold difference.

Tips on buying old domains

If you want to get ahead when starting a new site it’s best to purchase an exisiting domain name that is aged, has links and preferrably content. Here are some useful tools to help with this.

1. Visit www.dopedomains.com, buy a domain that has valid page rank and also DMOZ if possible. Get a list of possible domains together.

2. Get the list of domains you’d like to purchase then run them through www.idk.in which will show you domain age, backlinks and a range of other factors. This will help you narrow your list down.

3. Now you can bid on your narrowed down list of domains! Build youself up a decent network of sites!

Using this method you can make very decent ROI, the cost of the domain purchase is quickly recovered through adsense or affil earnings as these domains will rank highly very quickly and generate traffic.

Adsense Reinclusion

I had a site banned from Google Adsense a few years ago and as a result I was banned from Adsense personally, that caused a major issue for me in generating revenue online as Adsense is the main source of income for most webmasters, webmaster welfare as some call it.

I managed to get the site reincluded in the Adsense program and have my own accounts reviewed and enabled once again. If you want to get unbanned you need to do the following.

1. Have a site with a reasonable amount of traffic, say 500,000+ page views per month.

2. Contact a member of the Google Adsense Optimisation Team.

3. Let them know that you would like to be reconsidered and write a detail description of when the site was banned, why it was banned and what you are going to do in order to ensure that the site and your accounts will never break the Adsense terms of service again.
